My thesis project proposes a Co-Living, Co-Working and Connect Realm Complex designed to respond to the changing lifestyles of students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers and short-term residents. The project brings together living, working and social spaces within a connected and inclusive environment, reducing the separation between personal, professional and community life.
The co-living component provides comfortable private rooms supported by shared kitchens, lounges, recreational areas and informal interaction spaces. The co-working component includes individual workstations, collaborative areas, meeting rooms and flexible spaces that can accommodate different work patterns and user requirements. At the centre of the project, the connect realm acts as a social interface, encouraging interaction between residents, workers and visitors through courtyards, landscaped areas, multipurpose spaces and shared amenities.
The planning follows a clear hierarchy from public to semi-public, semi-private and private zones, ensuring both community engagement and personal privacy. Universal accessibility, safe circulation, clear wayfinding and gender-sensitive planning make the complex usable by people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. Passive design strategies such as natural ventilation, daylighting, shaded outdoor spaces, landscape integration and rainwater management improve environmental performance and user comfort.
The project aims to create more than a residential or commercial building. It establishes a flexible community that supports collaboration, affordability, well-being and social connection. Through the integration of living, working and shared experiences, the complex becomes an adaptable model for inclusive and sustainable urban living.
