The Charles Correa Foundation (CCF) announces the 2026-2027 cycle of the Research Fellowship, a program based in Fontainhas, Panaji, Goa.
Applications open on a rolling basis for a year-long position with the following qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture or Urban Design.
- Proficiency in using the following software – InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, AutoCad + SketchUp.
- Academic Architectural Portfolio – A compilation of selected academic design projects, specifically RSP (Related Study Programs), documentation drawings, and any other relevant works.
- Essay – 500 words (max). Choose any one of the following prompts:
- How do you read and reflect on a drawing or an image as a narrative device? Choose a project by charles Correa and interpret its drawings / images to tell its story.
- Write about a city/ urban issue through the lens of 2–3 films. Discuss the interlinking themes across the films and reflect on how they shaped your understanding of the urban condition.
- Of the many issues that Charles Correa engaged with in his career, write about one that speaks to your interests the most, and why?
- Writing sample – from an earlier academic paper.
During the Fellowship, you will be required to:
- Assist in preparation of project proposals, surveys and documentation, mapping and analysis, graphics, essays and presentations related to the research projects at CCF.
- Work closely with the archives to recreate drawings of Charles Correa’s built and unbuilt projects, sketches and essays.
- Organise, design, schedule and work on outreach programs of the Foundation through publications, conferences, exhibitions and workshops.
- Assist in coordinating outreach activities and public engagement initiatives for Nagari, including the Short Film Competition, screenings, festivals, learning programmes, and public events.
- Write about concerns and issues related to architecture and urbanism, and represent them through essays, blogs, etc.
- Make presentations on the Charles Correa Archives and works, to visitors at the Foundation.
- Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of ₹22,000/-
