Location: Panaji
Status: Study Report for Inland Waterways and Ferry Points Development
Year of Completion: 2015
With about 255 km of navigable stretch of waterways, Goa has the potential for an extensive water network, catering to both the local commuters as well as tourists. Improving and adding on to the river transport system which is already in place, could greatly make the travel experience more efficient and affordable with minimum intervention.
The various phases involved in the project proposal are: documentation of existing river transport facilities in Goa; identifying additional ferry routes to create an overall inland waterways network; reprogramming existing ferry points and providing supportive infrastructure.
