‘Like the trail that a snail leaves in its wake as it inches forward, so over the years an architect leaves behind a body of work, generated by the attitudes he gradually accumulates towards the agenda he deals with: climate, building materials, structural systems, functional requirements, and so forth.’ (Snail Trail, 2013)

The 6th edition of Z-axis – our biennial conference, reflects upon Charles Correa, trailing 6 decades of his practice. The conference will bring together 12 – 15 scholars to talk about different facets of his work: buildings, urbanism, writings on cities and architecture as well as his role in the debates on architecture in India and globally. After having the past two editions online, this year, we will be hosting the conference in-person at The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) on October 12-13, in his city – Bombay!
