Description

The project explores architecture as a catalyst for social bonding among children, investigating how visual imagery can shape the way children perceive, interact with, and engage with their surroundings.
Visual imagery is integrated into the architectural environment through colours, forms, textures, patterns, framed views, and spatial cues, encouraging observation, imitation, curiosity, creativity, and the development of personal narratives.
Architectural elements such as courtyards, gathering spaces, transitional spaces, and visual connections act as mediums that encourage children to observe, meet, play, collaborate, and learn from one another.
The implementation of these spaces aims to overcome physical, sensory, cognitive, and communication barriers, allowing children with varying abilities to connect through shared experiences.
The spaces are universally accessible through ramps, gentle level changes, multiple movement paths, varied spatial scales, quieter pockets, and spaces for both individual and collective engagement, allowing children to participate at their own pace.
The project therefore creates such an inclusive environment that, irrespective of cognitive and physical barriers, the children  unite through playing, exploring, participating, and belonging
