The Foundation is an initiative of Architect Charles Correa and is constituted as a not-for-profit public charitable trust to initiate and encourage architecture, urban design, and community projects in Goa. 4
The primary objective is:
To provide support to an idea or a project that works for the betterment of Goa’s natural and built habitat, during a period of incubation when it will be developed for the attention of the government/ municipality/ private agency that will be expected to adopt and fund it.
The secondary objectives are:
To organize field studies, seminars, lectures, conferences, symposia etc.
To establish and maintain archives of drawings, maps, and literature in the field of architecture. To document, research, record, make films and documentaries etc. of the architectural heritage of India, and of contemporary architecture in India, and to promote such activities for the benefit of the public in general.
To publish journals, reports and other research papers and books with a view to disseminating information on architecture, urban and rural planning, low cost shelters, habitats and other environmental and ecological issues.
To provide scholarships, prizes, and other awards as support to students of architecture including exchange programs and academic chairs for architecture and planning.
